Aprendamos Intervention Team Earns 2-Year BHCOE Accreditation Receiving National Recognition for Commitment to Quality Improvement

Las Cruces, NM – BHCOE Accreditation has recognized Aprendamos Intervention Team with a 2-Year Accreditation, acknowledging the organization as a behavioral service provider dedicated to continuous improvement in Applied Behavior Analysis. BHCOE Accreditation recognizes behavioral health providers that excel in the areas of clinical quality, staff qualifications, and consumer satisfaction and promote systems that enhance these areas. These areas are measured via a wide-ranging audit, including interviews with agency clinical leadership, in-depth on-site observation, a detailed staff qualification review, anonymous staff satisfaction survey, and anonymous consumer satisfaction survey.

BHCOE Accreditation is the only Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA)-specific accreditation. It provides feedback regarding clinical best practices, staff satisfaction and turnover, and consumer protection. Acting as a third-party, the organization systematically measures and reports on existing quality criteria in the behavior analysis community using standardized methods and practices, and accredits only those service agencies that meet these standards.

“At Aprendamos Intervention Team, we are grateful for our team of highly qualified professionals who approach ABA with knowledge, passion, and collaboration. We are proud to earn BHCOE Accreditation because it reflects our values,” said Executive Clinical Director Myrna Trujillo. “We take great pride in providing services of the highest quality and look forward to continuing to strive for growth and improvement for years to come.”

About Aprendamos Intervention Team
Aprendamos Intervention Team is a therapist-run organization which began in July of 2005 to serve the needs of individuals with developmental delays through an Early Intervention program known as Aprendamos. As Aprendamos grew, families began asking for services for their children after the age of three. To meet their needs, they started Esperanza Children’s Therapy Clinic. Families needed services for their children with Autism, so they began Mariposa Autism Services Center. Families also needed somewhere they could go and talk to someone about any issues they may be experiencing, so they started Alegria Family Counseling. Seeing that families need services before the child is born, they applied for and were awarded several grants, and the Conscious Fathering Program of Southern New Mexico, Cariño Home Visiting Program.

In 2005 Aprendamos began with 2 employees, a speech-language pathologist, and a service coordinator. Today they have a team of over 200 passionate, caring and driven individuals. Aprendamos provides comprehensive speech-language therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, family therapy, nutritional and nursing services, social workers, service coordinators, registered behavior technicians, board-certified behavior analyst, and more all with a goal of helping children and families in our communities.
